Nichiden Corporation and its group companies, established and in operation in any country or jurisdiction, when engaging in any conduct, shall adhere to the Company Motto “Sincerity- We do everything with sincerity.”, strictly in compliance with all applicable laws/regulations in force as an absolute prerequisite, based on its internal standards. All of such internal standards of any of the group companies, established and in operation in any country or jurisdiction, shall be construed to respect international norms and authoritative guidance documents, as an integral part of our group’s global conduct policy, described below in essence. We therefore require all of our suppliers and business partners not to contravene with the policy below, as a prerequisite to continue any business dealings with us.

Respecting Human Rights(Fundamental Human Rights, Labor Rights)

We respect the international norms and authoritative guidance documents on human rights such as The International Bill of Human Rights (comprised of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and The International Covenants on Human Rights), ILO’s Core Labor Standards, UN’s Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and do not do by ourselves or allow our supply chain to do the following or the like, conducting due diligence if appropriate considering the actual risk.

①Use of Child Labor

②Use of Forced Labor

③Discrimination of any kind based on Race/Color, Ethnicity, National Origin, Nationality, Religious Beliefs, Thoughts, Political Affiliation, Language, Gender, Age, Handicap/Disability, Gender Identity, Sexual Orientation, Financial Situation, Employment Status, etc.

④Harassment of any kind

⑤Infringement of Labor Rights (Freedom of Association, Collective Bargaining, etc.)

Others

We also respect and refer to the international norms and authoritative guidance documents such as UN Global Compact, The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, The Responsible Business Alliance Code of Conduct, Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA)’s Responsible Business Conduct Guidelines, etc., in order to address other issues exemplified below, as appropriate and reasonable, considering the actual risks involved. As and when any substantial problem needing to be resolved, or any indication of such was apprehended, we shall immediately and appropriately counter such problem as a management crisis, and prevent recurrence.
